Taking Stock of Current Standards
PM Power typically gathers data from the following sources for the assessment, tailored to the organization’s context:
- Customer feedback (organizational level or individual level) specific to project management
- Assessments of individual PM performance in a project by his reporting manager
- Inputs from project team members on how the project was led by the project manager
- Self-assessment of the project manager based on what works for him and where he needs help
PM Power’s assessment methodology brings incisive analysis and mapping to the fore so that developmental needs for individual PMs are precisely identified.
The individual development needs, once identified and agreed with the individual project manager and his reporting manager, form the basis for a custom competency development plan comprising developmental tasks (on-the-job & otherwise), focused training and coaching support.
